White Ridge Farm, on Brisbane’s north-side, may be an easy, accessible way to get in touch with nature for the young and young-at-heart. All that “paddock to the plate” stuff without the crush of the Brisbane Ekka.
Here’s what the owners of the farm had to say:
Our farm at Caboolture is open every Wednesday and is an excellent place for people with disabilities and their carers to visit.
There are no minimum numbers required. One person or a whole group can visit.
Our guests are welcome to bring a picnic, relax and enjoy.
We have a barn that has shady tables and chairs.
Our paths are flat and easy walking for wheelie walkers and we have wheelchair friendly toilets.
Entry is just $8 for pensioners and carers are free.
We have a large variety of very friendly animals ranging from the exotic llamas, alpacas and a camel to the more traditional farmyard friends, horses, pigs, sheep, goats and the list goes on.
An interactive area to allow people to touch and hold small animals and chickens, this area is designed to easily accommodate wheelchairs.
We look forward to sharing our animals with everybody!
